The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has announced a base price of USD 170 million for the media rights of various Asia Cup events, including global television, digital, and audio coverage. This rights package spans eight years (2024-2031) and includes tournaments like the Men's Asia Cup, Women's Asia Cup, Men's Under-19 Asia Cup, and Women's Under-19 Asia Cup. The auction is scheduled for November 1, with technical bids being submitted on October 30 in Dubai.
The Men's Asia Cup, the main attraction, will feature four editions during this period, beginning in 2025 (T20 format) in India, followed by Bangladesh in 2027 (ODI format), Pakistan in 2029 (T20 format), and Sri Lanka in 2031 (ODI format). Each edition will include 13 matches, with India vs. Pakistan matches serving as the prime draw for broadcasters. Given the popularity of these encounters, the potential revenue generation is enormous.
The ACC has also included three Women's Asia Cup tournaments in the rights package, making this a comprehensive offer for bidders. The e-auction format has been chosen to ensure transparency. A key focus is whether leading broadcasters Viacom18/Jio Cinema and Disney Star will bid separately or combine their efforts, as their impending merger is nearing completion.
India-Pakistan games, with their immense viewership, are expected to drive fierce competition in the auction. For in-depth predictions on this and other cricket events, visit Reddy Anna's Official Website and explore our Sports Betting Page. Feel free to contact us for more information.
